Use a variety of photos of the family within the theme you choose. Some of the photos can be of only one family member and others will be the whole family together. When making a family scrapbook time spent with friends will be another part of your scrapbook album. The backyard cookouts and birthday parties are all times spent together that will make special memories for your scrapbook. Adding a few mementos will be essential to the scrapbook. These can include drawings your children have made for you and other special gifts such as a flower they picked. Press it and put it in an envelope for safekeeping in your scrapbook.

The layout will start with the family photo as mentioned and from there you can do different themes for each page. The family trip to the circus, a day out at the beach, bedtime stories, making mud pies, visiting Grandma and Grandpa and learning to ride a bicycle - these are all special memories that you will want to have in your scrapbook. Looking back in later years will bring a smile to your face as your remember each and every special event spent with your family.

Everything from the cute things your kids say to the thoughts you had on a particular day can be a part of the family theme scrapbook. Adding your own personal thoughts will be an aspect of the book that will enhance the book even more as the years pass by. At one time or another all children use a made-up word for something that is just too cute. If you write it down, you will not worry about remembering what they called something when they were 3 or 4. This will be a part of the memories in your family scrapbook.
