Scrapbooking Ideas for Family

Family album

If you are thinking of putting together a Scrapbooking Ideas for Family into a scrapbook ablum that chronicles the life and times of your family, this will end up being a piece of history for family members who are yet to be born. What ideas can you come up with to make this scrapbook most unique to your family?

Ideas for Your Family

One Scrapbooking ideas for family would be family traditions. Every family has one or more and they are cherished by each and every one of the members. The scrapbook can record these special times together and they will be remembered even more fondly when everyone is older and has their own family to start traditions.

Many traditions center around Christmas. Going to get the tree, decorating it, the time for opening presents - these are all celebrated by each family in their own way. Traditions may also center around summer vacations, Easter, 4th of July, the first snow of the season and many other parts of the lives of families.

The tradition does not even have to be something about going somewhere or celebrating a holiday. It could be simply the tradition at bedtime. The reading of a story and being tucked in may be called a routine or a tradition but they are special just the same. These are all memories that will be included in the family scrapbook. Each person in the family can say something about how the traditions are special to them. The writings on the pages of the scrapbook will add to the unique perspective of this book of memories.

How many people in your family resemble each other? Do people mistake your daughters for twins? Another great idea is to check out relatives from as far back as you can go and see if there is a family resemblance. Do members of the family from 50, 60 or 70 years ago have the same eyes, nose, a mole or some resemblance to your family today? This is actually a very interesting scrapbook idea. You may find there are people who looked almost identical to you or your children.

Does anyone in your family have a talent? Do they play guitar? Or maybe they play the piano and have never had a lesson. These are family talents that your great-great grandmother may have possessed as well. Your great-grandfather may have been a very good mechanic and you love to work on vehicles. This could be a talent that has been handed down through the generations.

Finding out what you can about your family, past and present, is one of the most interesting ways of keeping in touch with your heritage. A scrapbook chronicling these traits, skills, resemblances and talents will be even more cherished by family members at a later date. They will not have to do so much research to find out about their ancestors.
