Assembling a baby blues scrapbook page
When you think of baby blues scrapbook you think of baby boys, the first color that comes to mind is blue. You buy clothes, they’re blue. Blankets, blue. Bottles, blue. Hats, mittens, sleepers, picture frames, toys…all blue.
The blue color theme for baby boys is also popular in scrapbooking, hence baby blues scrapbook. You can find a variety of albums, patterned papers, embellishments and lettering if you choose to use blue as your theme.
Below are some easy to follow instructions for assembling a baby blues scrapbook page or even an entire blue album.
The first step is to choose the pictures that you want to include on your baby blues scrapbook page. You can never go wrong with having fewer pictures rather than more. The more pictures you try to squeeze on the page, the more you will have to adjust your layout and you may have to leave off that perfect element for lack of space.
Once you have selected your pictures, you should begin thinking about your subtheme, which may be apparent by how you have grouped your pictures. Your main theme on a baby blues scrapbook page is the color blue. Your subtheme will be the title of your page. In this instance, our title will be “Splish, Splash…Baby’s 1st Bath.”
Next choose from baby blue comic, baby blue cartoons; baby blues strips or baby blue theme. Or you can choose papers and embellishments that remind you of water or bath time. A cute suggestion would be to use the same patterned paper in several different shades. Another idea would be to use solid and patterned paper in the same shade and accent with a second color, say a yellow rubber duck.
Now that you have all of your items together, laid out in front of you, think about how you want to position them on the page. Do you have one picture that just really stands out and is large in size? If so, make that your main focal point. Offsetting a large focal point can add interest to your layout.
If you have several pictures of the same size, run them in a band across or down the page. If you have several pictures of different sizes, stack them, or create a large geometric object by matting them together.
If you lack inspiration, try buying a scrapbook magazine, checking a book out at the library or visiting a scrapbooking website for creative layouts.
Having placed your pictures on your page, decide where you want to place your title and journaling. Many people like to create a fancy title and journaling on the computer, print it off and then attach it to their page.
Another option is to find a pre-made title, stamp a title or handwrite the entire page. Any item that is handwritten or drawn adds a touch of personality that will be treasured for generations.
You are almost done! Now comes the tedious part of your project…Attaching all the elements to your page. Any superstore, scrapbook store or craft store will offer a variety of adhesive options.
The most important things to look for with baby blues scrapbook are whether the adhesive is acid-free and of archival quality. You don’t want to spend precious time creating a ababy blue masterpiece scrapbook only to have it fall apart or discolor a few years down the road.
Can you believe it? You have finished a baby blue scrapbook masterpiece. Congratulations!
