Baby Digital Scrapbooking

digital scrapbook baby

Do you want the flexibility of using baby digital scrapbooking and being able to size pictures to fit your layouts perfectly? Do you love baby digital scrapbooking, but do not like to clean up the mess. Would you like to work on a baby boy Digita scrapbook layout and come back to it later with out having to drag out all of your supplies? Would you like to be able to give the same scrapbook album to several people?

If you answered yes to these questions and are ready to make the leap into the digital world, digital scrapbooking is for you. All you need to get started is a photo editing software package, a digital camera and a computer.

There are many different photo editing programs available on the market. Your level of comfort on the computer will be a guide for how much you should spend when purchasing one of these. Adobe offers a line of products for the professional to the beginner. Adobe Photoshop is the software of choice for anyone that has to do photo manipulation on a regular basis.

If you are a professional, and have the money to spend, consider purchasing Photoshop CS3. This program is loaded with powerful features and you will not be disappointed. I

f you are just entering the digital world, consider purchasing Photoshop Elements. Elements are a downsized version of the regular Photoshop program that is user-friendly and very affordable.

Once you have purchased a program and have you digital images stored on your computer, you may want to purchase some digital scrapbooking kits. If you Google “Digital Scrapbooking” you will find several good sites. Some sites will also let you sign up for their newsletters and then you will receive free downloads.

Buy a few packages that include Alpha sets, background papers and elements. The wonderful thing about digital scrapbook kits is that you can use the images again and again without repurchasing them.

This page demonstration will assume that you are new to baby digital scrapbooking, but comfortable with using the computer. First start by opening your photo program and create a new file. Most of the pages purchased in the digital sets are 12”x12,” so it seems easy to start with this size canvas.

Next open the background papers that you want to use in your layout. You may have to unlock the background layer. You can do this by double clicking on the small icon in the layers palette that looks like a padlock. Next take your selection key and drag that layer to your blank file.

You can resize the layer by clicking on the corner and dragging in or out. If you want to maintain your proportions, you can hold the Shift key down while dragging. If you want to change what image is shown on top, move that layer to the top of your file in the layers palette. Working with layers can take some time to get used to, but can save you so much time when you want to change an elements orientation on the page.

Once you have positioned all the papers you want to use and sized them in your new document, you are ready to bring in the pictures. You have the same options for resizing and moving pictures as you did with the digital scrapbook papers. Play with different layouts and proportions until you find one that works for you. Remember, the same sites where you purchased your kits will also have design galleries if you need inspiration on a layout.

Add digital embellishments, a title and some journaling and your page is complete. Save your image and you are ready to print. Our suggestion is to save two copies of the file, one copy a jpeg for emailing and web usage and one copy as a png. This will allow you to go back and make changes in the future.

If you have a wide format printer, you can print your baby digital scrapbooking 12”x12” page at home. If not, consider resizing the image to 8”x8”. You will maintain all the proportions and you can print it from your home computer or the local photo lab. And while you are printing them, you might as well print off some for your friends and family. If you want to post your pages to the web, resize your baby digital scrapbooking to 120dpi resolution. They will look great when viewed over the web!
