ultrasound scrapbook layout

ultrasound scrapbook page

Have you ever wondered what do to with all the ultrasound pictures of your little one? Do you want to relegate them to a bag full of memorabilia you dust off once in a blue moon? Or you could do something that I did with all those pictures I gathered from the time I was pregnant. I decided to start an ultrasound scrapbook layout with them!

My son is now 11 months old and it is fun to go back to the ultrasound scrapbook and try and point out body parts to him! It also reminds you of the time while you were carrying your child and what you were thinking as the months progressed. Let me tell you what I did to make my ultrasound scrapbook and you could improvise and make your own.

Scrapbooking Ideas for Ultrasounds

To begin with, collect all the ultrasounds from your pregnancy. If any of them are on flimsy paper like those fax machine paper, take them to a copier and have colored copies taken. Have these taken out on an archival paper for that cleaner and crisper look. In fact, you will find a number of papers in the market which are meant for scrapbooks and do not wither with time. Selecting the ultrasound pictures and cropping them for the scrapbook is the most essential part towards creating your ultrasound scrapbook.

To mount the ultrasound pictures, you could use patterned paper or decorative mats. Ink the edges of the photographs and the paper. Now that the pictures are on the scrapbook, let’s decorate our scrapbook. You can use die cut flowers on each paper. A number of colorful decorative items and embellishments are available online. These can be printed for free or a nominal fee from these websites. Title stickers and beautiful alphabets can be bought at your local stationary store. Try these to make the title and journals for each page on your ultrasound scrapbook.

You have a number of options when writing a journal for your ultrasound scrapbook. You can add something about the baby, if he/ she moved at that time, the date, heart rate of the baby and any other information about the baby. You could also add your feelings at that time. Since ultrasounds are often black and white, you can use a number of colored embellishments to add color to your scrapbook. Ultrasounds don’t have a long life, so it is best to store them in a pocket. Alternatively, scan them and use Adobe Photoshop to adjust colors for longevity. This will also give you the option to reduce or enlarge the photograph for your ultrasound scrapbook.

You may choose to begin your ultrasound scrapbook layout by including the Psalm 139:13-14: For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. You could follow a theme throughout the scrapbook and make it like you are writing a letter to your child. Imagine how happy they will be when they read their own ultrasound scrapbook layout as they grow. How loved and wanted they would feel!
